Job Description



B. Key Responsibilities

  • • Conduct comprehensive preoperative evaluations to assess patient medical history, physical condition, and anesthesia risks.
  • • Review laboratory results, imaging studies, and other diagnostic information to determine appropriate anesthesia plans.
  • • Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans based on patient needs and surgical requirements.
  • • Administer various forms of anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia.
  • • Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and anesthesia depth during procedures.
  • • Manage airway and respiratory support as necessary throughout the surgical process.
  • • Provide care in the post-anesthesia recovery unit, monitoring patients’ recovery.
  • • Provide oversight of non-physician Anesthesia staff as required
  • • Assess and manage any immediate postoperative complications or side effects related to anesthesia.
  • • Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications



Basic Requirements/Certifications:

  • • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
  • • Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • • Current DEA certificate.
  • • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.

Physical Requirements:

  • • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • • May require bending, stooping and lifting to 25 lbs.

  • • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • • Must be able to relocate to project site for the duration of the contract.
  • • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
